Moon bear Storm was born on a bile farm.

For years, she was imprisoned in a dark, rusted cage with barely enough room to turn around.

Every day, she lived in fear of the sound of footsteps because she knew what came next. She’d be drugged, pierced through her tender belly, and have her bile painfully extracted.

When the Animals Asia Bear Rescue Team reached her, Storm was heartbreakingly underweight. Her fur was sparse and patchy. Her skin was caked in dirt.

Animals Asia has rescued over 700 bears from captivity since 1998 but seeing the heartbreaking conditions bears are forced to endure never gets any easier.

But the most devastating part? An untreated, agonising injury had left her back leg permanently deformed. She’ll likely never be able to walk on it again.

Without the kindness and compassion of people who choose to support animal welfare, Storm might still be trapped on that wretched farm and her life could have ended there.

Five million dogs are slaughtered for the dog meat trade in Vietnam every year. That’s 13,699 dogs every day.

From much loved family pets being stolen, crammed into small cages and transported hundreds of miles without food or water, to killing dogs in front of those that are next - many aspects of the trade are illegal, as well as being extremely inhumane and brutal.

Seo (meaning ‘Scar’ in Vietnamese) was extremely close to losing his life.

Seo was snatched from the streets of Vietnam in one of the cruelest ways you could ever imagine. A trafficker taped his mouth shut and viciously dragged him to a waiting truck. If the trafficker had not been caught in time, Seo would have been taken to a location to be slaughtered for his meat.

The abuse from the trafficker left him with a seriously infected leg, another infection on his snout and part of his tongue being ripped out.
